Happy Valentine’s Day!

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner!  For our Valentine’s Day photo shoot, we tried to put together some fun date outfits in a variety of styles – fancy, casual, super-casual, retro, and outdoors.  Check out some of our outfit ideas!

Our fine friends (and neighbors!) over at The Friendly Toast were kind enough to let us use their fabulous space for some of our photos.  So we tried to put together outfits for 1950s high-schoolers, and went over to The Friendly Toast on January 16th, 2012 for a milkshake!

  • Cardigan: Polo, from the Women’s Contemporary department
  • Skirt: Banana Republic, from the Women’s Contemporary department
  • Collar: We made this Peter Pan collar from pink and white felt, modified from this tutorial!
  • Crinoline: Forum, from our sister store, Boston Costume
  • Shoes: Trash, from By the Pound.  These shoes were brownish-gray when we found them, but we added some acrylic paint to give them look more like saddle shoes.

Too cute!

We changed gears and went for a completely different style with these outfits…casual and comfortable!

  • “Until Death Do Us Part” tee shirt: H&M, from the Men’s Contemporary department
  • Jeans: Old Navy (brand new, with the tags still on!), from the Men’s Contemporary department
  • Shoes: Converse, from the used Shoes department

Baby, it’s cold outside!

We wanted to go for a bright red style that was still casual and fun with this set.

These were our fancy date outfits!

…but that doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun!!

We’ll leave you with one more.  But just remember, The Garment District loves you!  Happy Valentine’s Day!
